Description
Fairy or wishing trees/bushes in Ireland grew next to a holy well. Some of the wells have long since dried up, including this one on the Hill of Tara, but people still make wishes and prayers by tying a ribbon and some kind of a trinket to the tree as a gift or offering in exchange for the wish.
